Hi Ian

Assuming the two laptops are exactly the same, with the same screen resolution, this may be caused by the "Change the size of text, apps and other items" in Display Properties being set higher on the laptop which can't read the full words. This setting is in Windows 10, earlier versions of Windows have something similar but may be worded slightly differently.
